How to upgrade memory of a laptop to increase performance ??

By

Upgrading the memory of your laptop is the most easy and efficient way of increasing ur laptop's speed. Many laptop owners shy of doing this on their own because of-lack of confidance, fear of ruining their computers, compatibility concerns and many more. When most of users talk about laptops speed they usually talk of "RAM" or Random Access Memory. The best solution to tackle the problem of upgrading is by providing the correct information.

RAM is considered importent to your laptop speed, because it allows multiple programs to run simultaneously. As a general rule-The higher your laptops ram is faster your computer will run.To do this first is to know your ram better. There are many types of ram in market like SDRAM (Synchronous Dynamic RAM), DDR (Double Data Rate SDRAM),    RDRAM (Rambus DRAM). Without knowing your ram upgrading is of no use, because of compatibility issue. After knowing the amount and type of ram you want, purchase it from suitable manufacturer.

Before you start anything make sure your laptop is switched off and unplugged from any source of power for the sake of safety. Now you need to know is 'memory compartment door' in your laptop. For that you can reffer your laptop mannual provided by the laptop vendor or by doing some online research about your product. Now open up  memory compartment's door with the help of appropriate screwdriver and look inside. you will find two slots(usually) where you have to put your ram modules.IF your both slots are filled remove one of them and put ram with higher configuration. You can remove a RAM module by pressing on the little ejector clips that hold the module in place.

Again, your experience may be different depending on the company that made your computer, so make sure to check your owner's manual or support Web site before you start opening your laptop's case.Once you have  everything back in place, turn on your computer. If everything goes well, your laptop should automatically recognize the extra memory. You'll find that your computer will boot much faster, run applications more smoothly and switch between programs with less lag time.

You can check your new ram by right clicking on your 'My Computer' menu and than properties.
