For that you can reffer your laptop mannual provided by the laptop vendor or by doing some online research about your product.Now open up  memory compartment's door with the help of appropriate screwdriver and look inside. you will find two slots(usually) where you have to put your ram modules.IF your both slots are filled remove one of them and put ram with higher configuration.You can remove a RAM module by pressing on the little ejector clips that hold the module in place.

                Again, your experience may be different depending on the company that made your computer, so make sure to check your owner's manual or support Web site before you start opening your laptop's case.Once you have  everything back in place, turn on your computer. If everything goes well, your laptop should automatically recognize the extra memory.
